Welcome to the Smoky Mountains and the enchanting City of Gatlinburg, Tennessee. The staff of Chalet Rentals of the Smokies would like the opportunity to serve you! Here is a list of our policies therefore you will know what is to be expected if you decide to stay with us.

RESERVATIONS:

You must be at least 21 in order to rent a cabin or chalet. Booking a reservation requires the first night deposit plus tax (12.5%). All reservations require a 50% deposit of your total stay by credit/debit card. Deposits are required the day you make your reservation. Reservations cannot be held without payment.. Our rates are posted on the availability calendar, check for specials on the general notes listed below the calendar. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Money Orders, Traveler Checks and personal checks. If it is an online reservation, a credit card is required in order to confirm and if the reservation is made via the phone and not with a credit card, payment is to be received within 5 days and a confirmation will be sent. However, if we do not receive payment the reservation will be cancelled. We do not accept personal checks at arrival. If you must cancel or change your reservation we require a four week notice. If you cancel before the date falls in that time frame you will receive everything less the $45 cancellation fee. Although, if you do not notify us in the time stated above you will lose your first nights deposit and the $45 fee. Failure to notify our office of your inability to come or not showing up will cost you the entire balance of your stay. At the time of notification of cancellation we will issue you a cancellation code and again explain the policies. Your reservation covers the number of people indicated on your confirmation agreement. There will be an additional $25 charge per person, per night for breach of contract.A confirmation # is assigned to you at the end of the online reservation process. However, your reservations are not confirmed until you receive an email or faxed approval confirming your request. This will be a confirmation from Amazing Views of the Smokies. If you have requested an email confirmation: PLEASE CHECK YOUR BULK/SPAM BOX. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO NOTIFY US IF YOU DON'T RECEIVE A CONFIRMATION. FAILURE TO DO SO, DOES NOT JUSTIFY YOUR DECISION TO NOT SHOW UP/DISREGARDING THE RESERVATION AND EXPECTING A REFUND!

ARRIVALS AND DEPARTURES:

Check in time is from 3pm to 6pm eastern standard time. If you’re arriving after our office closes you will be required to have your balance paid in advance via cc or otherwise and you will be using a key drop box with a combination to get your map & key. We encourage you to arrive before 5pm in order to review your map to your cabin or chalet with a member of our staff. We are closed on Sunday. If you are arriving on Sunday, you must be paid prior to arrival. Your map and key will be in the late check-in box and you can pick it up at 3pm. Checkout time is 11am and we appreciate it as well as the housekeeping staff if you follow procedure.If you have to leave prior to your scheduled departure date, we will not give a refund.

TRAVERSING THE MOUNTAINOUS TERRAIN:

The city of Gatlinburg is surrounded my the Great Smoky Mountain National Park which are mountains. Most of the cabins and chalets are located in or on top of the mountains, therefore you will be required to drive on steep and winding roads in order to arrive at the destination. Some roads are not conducive to cars with low undercarriages or while towing motorcycles, etc. Please let the staff know when making a reservation if you will be towing/riding motorcycles or driving low riding cars. Most roads are paved however there are some units that are accessed by way of pavement and gravel. Please consider this information when making your vacation plans and realize we are not required to refund your money if your afraid to drive up the mountain to your chalet or cabin!

December 1 thru March 31st come prepared with chains and possibly a 4-wheel drive vehicle because most of our chalets and cabins are up in the mountains. As with any vacation whether the beach or the mountains you should always check the weather forecast for the days away. For your convenience visit www.theweatherchannel.com and our zip is 37738.

MAINTENANCE:

In the event of a failure of appliances whether it be a hot tub, central H/A, public utility, water supply etc. Every attempt will be made to resolve the problem as soon as possible. Please notify the office as soon as it occurs. Neither the rental company or the property owners will be obligated to give refunds or discounts. Each month our chalets and cabins are treated by a professional pest control company, however we are in the mountains and woods and near rivers and streams. Unfortunately it is impossible to keep all the insects out, they will attempt to cross the barrier of poison and you may encounter a stunned insect on the floor of your chalet. There are seasons for certain types of insects: Springtime brings the bumble bees that bore into the wood, wasps, ants and pine beetles; Fall has it’s wasps (especially when the temperature fluctuates between hot and cold), ladybugs, flies. On the “critter” aspect you might see the occasional black bear, deer, wild turkey, snake etc. Just remember don’t feed the wildlife unless you want the wildlife to take up residency with you!!

RESPONSIBILITY:

Also, NO PETS ARE ALLOWED, NO EXCEPTIONS! If we find evidence (pet hair, stains on the carpet or furniture, broken blinds, or scratches on woodwork and furniture, etc.) your credit card will be charged an additional $50/night. Your signature on your confirmation indicates your willingness to abide by our policies and therefore reimburse the homeowner/company for the damage.

All of our units are NON-SMOKING and we as well as our homeowners would appreciate your respect and care. Please take care of the Gatlinburg cabins and chalets as if you were in your home away from home! If you have mud on your shoes please don’t go traipsing thru the house! If you spill something on the carpet/furniture please have the courtesy and decency to use a little soap and water and clean it up! Please DO NOT SIT OR STAND ON THE HOT TUB COVERS. They are made of Styrofoam and break easily. If we find evidence of neglect you will be required to reimburse the chalet rental company $350 to replace the hot tub cover.

We, Chalet Rentals of the Smokies and Amazing Views of the Smokies, will not be held responsible for accident or injury or for stolen or damaged property while you are staying with our company. However, if you or anyone in your party damages or removes property from the premises, you will be held accountable/responsible. Your signature on the confirmation agreement suggests your willingness to pay and our right to collect. You will be charged a minimum of $100 for the damage, you will be responsible for the higher amount.

Articles left behind will be sent to you C.O.D.
